United's Under 18s kept open their chances of making the end of season play-offs with a 3-2 win at QPR to bounce back from Friday's FA Youth Cup exit.
All the action occurred in the first 45 minutes, followed by a goalless second half, as Del Geary gave a first under 18s start to young midfielder Charlie Stanisland.
United got off to a quick start and were ahead just past the six-minute mark, Harvey Cullinan getting his head to Josh Smith's corner to put the Blades in front.
A strong start saw the Blades double their lead after just 20 minutes, a swift passing move down the right ending with Theo Williams' low cross being flicked home by the in-form Will Lankshear at the near post.
United though were undone in the 15 minutes leading up to half-time, as first a penalty for the hosts halved the deficit, before a low cross from the left was tapped home from close range to wipe out United's lead minutes before the break.
The action though wasn't over there. After good and persistent work from Lankshear down the left, the striker was fouled inside the box to give the Blades a penalty of their own just before the break.
Ryan Viggars stepped up and despite the QPR goalkeeper guessing right, there was enough power to find the corner and to restore United's lead.
Despite a thrilling first half, it remained goalless after the break despite both sides having chances to add to the goal tally, but it was the young Blades who walked away with another three points, extending their league unbeaten run to eight games.
